Position Description
Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, located in Pensacola, Florida, is seeking God’s man for a satellite campus pastor position.
Our Pastor, Gordon Godfrey, Jr. has been the Senior Pastor since 1991. The church’s weekly attendance has climbed from 63 to more than 2,500 during that time. The church supports numerous missionaries at home and around the world. We also have 2 preschools, a Christian School from K4-5th grade, a Thrift Store and a Food Pantry. The church has averaged more than 1000 salvations and 300 baptisms each year. Now, we have a vision to plant 5 satellite campuses in a 10-year period.
Pensacola is located in Florida’s panhandle, surrounded by 50-plus miles of coastline which includes the emerald-green Gulf of Mexico waters and crystal-clear bay areas. The city is known as the perfect combination of a relaxed beach town and bustling metropolitan center. The temperate, climate and a friendly community that is driven toward success present an unparalleled quality of life.
The city has a proud military heritage, thanks to the Naval Air Station. In addition to being the "Cradle of Naval Aviation," the Pensacola Bay Area is proud to call itself home to the renowned Blue Angels, officially known as the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. Welcoming family or friends for a visit is convenient with our local Pensacola International Airport which offers nonstop air service to nine major U.S. cities, over 1300 domestic flights, and 21 international flights via six major airlines.
There is no shortage of entertainment, and Pensacola prides itself on its diverse and emerging cultures. Annual festivals, events, and performances display the region’s greatest musicians, food, artists, shows, and vendors that captivate the heart and history of the area. Residents benefit from an abundance of resources, from the more than 40 primary and secondary schools which boast some of the highest standardized test scores in the state, to area hospitals and retirement homes which have won numerous awards and continuously rank among the best in the state. Pensacola’s heritage includes a mix of many different cultures, making it the ideal place to learn, grow, work, play, and serve the Lord.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Satellite Campus Pastor (CP) will serve as the key leader of one of our corresponding satellite campuses to facilitate the mission of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church (MPBC) and be overall responsible for on-site and off-site execution of all campus ministry activities.
BROADLY, THE (CP) WILL BE:
A High Capacity Leader who is a catalytic self-starter with a high energy level.
A Team Player that people will follow and who will follow the senior leadership of the church.
A Diligent Operative with strong administrative and organizational skills.
A Versatile Multitasker who can seamlessly handle multiple assignments that are different in nature.
A Mobilizer who attracts followers and can turn them into volunteer servants at a variety of leadership levels.
An Effective Communicator who is able to hold the attention of the room as he makes announcements, comments on the service, and gives an invitation. There will be ample opportunity for the (CP) to lead through their communication ability, but this is not primarily a preaching/teaching role.
A People Magnet who is very relational and loves being around people as much as they love being around him.
A Pastoral-Hearted man who cares for people.
A Compassionate Soul Winner who consistently shares the gospel through his words and his works.
A DNA Carrier who will reproduce the (MPBC) mission of Connecting people with God, Connecting people with Others, and Connecting people with a Lost World.
